China Mobile is developing NFV in VoLTE, IoT and fixed access, director of Network Technology Research Institute, China Mobile Research Institute, Duan Xiaodong said at China Information and Communication Industry Development Summit 2016 a few days ago.
China Mobile's VoLTE has been in the process of network virtualization, and the operator has accomplished pilots of stage one in four regions and will gradually realize deployments in some other areas.
China Mobile has driven to develop fixed network since last year, which has acted as a pillar, and promoted the all-optical network. Through the new architecture of NFV, China mobile aims to reduce the cost, increases the efficiency and enhance the operational capacity.
