Yang Zhiqiang, vice president of China Mobile Research Institute, said at the Global SDNFV Tech Conference 2016 that China Mobile aims to conduct network transformation, involving data center based on NFV and network based on SDN.
In order to integrate IT technologies and construct next-generation network, China Mobile announced NovoNet plan.
The future data centers will use IT universal server to form a unified resource pool while telecom equipments will realize separation of hardware and software with NFV, its core technology. Telecom network element capacities will form telecom cloud, which is carried in the unified resource pool in the form of software. It aims to realize quick deployment, quick network element update and flexible scheduling of capacity.
Yang pointed out unified TIC is really important to realization of quick copy and unified scheduling during construction of new data center. TIC is standardized key infrastructure built in micro modules, which meets Carrier Grade requirements and able to carry different kinds of virtualized telecommunication software or applications.
The future network architecture is to realize centralization of control surface and subsidence of media face of telecommunication network with new data center constructed by TIC and to achieve scheduling of management and open of capacity of network, network element and service with SDN.
