As an advocate of building "Global Information High Speed Rail", China Telecom devotes itself to the information construction of the countries along “One Belt and One Road”. China Telecom Global Limited owned by China Telecom (hereinafter referred to as “China Telecom Global”) contributed $20 million, initiated the establishment of China Overseas Frastructure Investment & Development Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as the “Platform Company”) with founding shareholders including China-Africa Development Fund, CGGC (CGGC International LTD.), China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, Dingyi Group Investment Limited, Changjiang Institute of Survey, Planning, Design and Research and ENFI (China ENFI Engineering Co., Ltd) on Nov 12, 2015 and signed the shareholder agreement.
As the earliest domestic telecom operator involved in the overseas telecom market, China Telecom has established branches in 27 countries and regions worldwide currently and has constructed 63 PoPs in overseas markets, and it owns more than 9T international transmission bandwidth and transcontinental capacity with resources in 33 international submarine cables; China Telecom serves more than 1,000 multinational enterprises and carrier customers.
As the only industry shareholder of the Platform Company in the telecom field, China Telecom Global will give full play to its advantages in the global network resource and operation management and integrate the experience and abilities in network planning and design and engineering construction of its parent company and other affiliated companies, aiming to rich the competency cluster, expand the business, provide holocyclic and all-around services for customers with the Platform Company and help the country implement the strategy of “One Belt and One Road”.
