Updated:2015/11/2 11:02

At the 23rd International Conference on Technology Convergence (ICTC 2015) held recently, LYU Jianjie, vice president of China Broadcasting Network Co.,Ltd (CBN) said the user growth peaked and the industry competition intensified, therefore the industry revenue growth slowed down but maintained the growth rate of nearly 10%. He predicted that the cable industry revenue for 2015 will be CNY 90 billion.

The  contribution of basic licence fee and pay TV business on revenue growth is declining, and the contribution of other services represented by the broadband service reaches 61%, becoming the important resource which supports the revenue growth.

Judging from the geography, cable network revenue differs greatly from province to province. The revenue for 2015 of some areas reaches up to CNY 3 billion, which are including Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Sichuan, Beijing, Hunan, Hubei and Shanghai; the annual revenue of these areas ranges between CNY 1 billion and 3 billion: Fujian, Jilin, Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Hebei, Chongqing, Shanxi and Shanxi; the annual revenue of six provinces is less than CNY 1 billion: Xinjiang, Gansu, Hainan, Ningxia, Qinghai and Tibet.
