Operating data in May of major operators were released: China Unicom lost 1.91 million subscribers

The three major operators released their operational data in May. According to the published data, China Telecom and China Mobile saw net growth in subscribers, while China Unicom lost 1.91 million subscribers, with the total number of subscribers dropped to 290.3 million.

Below were the details of the operational data of the three major operators:

China Telecom

Mobile subscribers increased by 910,000 in May, with the total number reaching 190.7 million. In this report, 3G/4G subscribers increased by 2.01 million and the total number reached 129.2 million.

China Mobile

Mobile subscribers increased by 373,000 in May and the total number reached 816.3 million. Among this, 4G subscribers increased by 17.188 million and the total number exceeded 170 million. The 3G subscribers continued to drop out and decreased 6.566 million in May.

At present, China Mobile has 222.7 million 3G subscribers and 170.3 million 4G subscribers.

China Unicom

China Unicom lost 1.913 million subscribers in May and the total number dropped to 290.3 million (2.532 million were lost in April). Among this, 3G and 4G subscribers increased by 732,000 to 152.8 million; while the GSM subscribers decreased by 2.645 million to 137.5 million.
