Li Nan, the vice president of Meizu, shared his view of virtual operation in a meeting recently. "At present, most of the virtual operators are channel operators, although they have the customer resources, they are short in the integration capability." Li Nan said, "in addition, tariff of the data traffic from the traditional operators is high, and it’s not easy to compete with the latter."
However, Meizu has put virtual operation as one of its goals in the future. "When the two conditions are ready, Meizu would apply for virtual operation license." Li Nan said, "The first is the drop down of wholesale prices from the operators, the second is the better development of its own channel construction."
At the end of May in this year, Meizu and Suning reached a number of strategic cooperation, including the entering in Suning, making Meizu MX3 as the first batch of virtual operator contract device with Suning. Now, Meizu is not satisfied with providing customized devices for virtual operators, when the aboved two conditions are ready, based on a stronger integration capability and user base, Meizu will also strive to enter of list of virtual operators.
