China Telecom, one of China’s Big Three telecom operators, said on Tuesday that the company would co-launch the new Tianyi international card with international mobile phone giant Vodafone on December 1.
According to the company, the launch of the new card will sharply reduce the telecom operator’s international roaming tariffs, by an average range of about 50 percent.
The maximum decrease is to reach 81 percent.
China Telecom’s international roaming tariffs adjustment include 17 CDMA roaming countries and regions and nearly 258 GSM roaming countries and regions.
Vodafone is the world’s largest mobile telecommunications company measured by revenues and the world’s second largest measured by subscribers, with around 332 million proportionate subscribers as at September 30 of 2010.
