Ten vendors share China Mobile's IMS equipment tender

Updated:2010/7/29 14:45

China Mobile decided to choose ten vendors to provide equipment of the IMS network, includes Huawei, Fiberhome, ZTE, Star-net, etc.

The IMS network, when it is completed, will help China Mobile to deliver services such as in-call sharing of images and video, presence-enhanced contact management and unified messaging across mobile and fixed devices.

This access network tender just followed the tender of China Moible's IMS core network, it means that China Moible is looking to better position itself to keep up with its smaller rivals, who have both fixed-line and mobile service.

In the earlier IMS core network tender, Huawei, ZTE, Nokia Siemens Networks, Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell, the Shanghai-based flagship company of Alcatel-Lucent, and Ericsson Telephone shared the the first tender. ( By Rosa )
