Huawei, a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, has announced the election of Mr. Carl Liu, President of Huawei Canada, to the Board of Directors of the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA). The association is the authority on wireless issues, developments and trends in Canada.
“On behalf of the CWTA Board of Directors, I am pleased to welcome Mr. Liu,” said Bernard Lord, CWTA President and Chief Executive Officer. “With its strong position in both the Canadian wireless sector and the global telecommunications industry, Huawei will be a valuable asset to the Association's advocacy of such a dynamic and exciting industry.”
“We are honored to collaborate with Canada’s wireless industry leaders on CWTA’s Board of Directors,” said Carl Liu, President of Huawei Canada. “We look forward to being actively involved and contributing to the regulatory and policy matters that will help shape and promote the wireless industry in Canada.”
Mr. Liu has 20 years experience in the telecommunications industry, the last eight years working in the U.S. Mr. Liu was most recently Executive Vice President of Huawei USA responsible for general management of Huawei’s business portfolio in the U.S.
Huawei commits significant resources and investments to the telecommunications and wireless industry. Huawei also drives the development of industry standards through active participation in 123 international standardization organizations.
