China (mainland) – China Mobile, along with other mobile operators, is implementing tests in setting up TD-SCDMA long-term evolution (LTE) networks in 2010. The company targets to develop standard equipment for TD-LTE products to ensure full use of the TD-SCDMA as well as resolve problems related to TD-LTE applications.
China Mobile plans to pump up its investment and develop more unique services to extend to its customers. It is also aiming to improve its interactions with other operators and manufacturers to shorten the research period for new technologies that will be used around China.
With support from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission, TD-LTE has become a major focus in the broadband mobile communications sector.
