Mobile push email vendor, SEVEN has announced China Unicom’s launch of a push email service. SEVEN established a local network operations center (NOC), to support China Unicom in launching the service on its network. SEVEN says that it is the only foreign mobile email provider to address this growing market by establishing a NOC in China.
The local NOC mitigates security concerns because no messages will be relayed outside China to another country. SEVEN also plans further investment in China through expansion of its research and design center in Hangzhou.
The service enables customers to manage business email, contacts and calendar information for Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino, and access top internet and Chinese email providers including: 133sh, Sina, Sohu, 163, 126, 21cn, 139, QQ and Google Mail.
“Making mobile email accessible to everyone worldwide has been a long-term goal for SEVEN,” said Ross Bott, president and CEO of SEVEN. “We have been striving to improve access to mobile email, both geographically and across a wide range of devices from the simplistic to the sophisticated – so everyone can use mobile email, no matter their device. Our partnership with China Unicom brings us one step closer to furthering our goals while providing their customers with an easy-to-use mobile email solution for business or personal use.”
