ZTE Corporation, one of the many providers of telecom equipment and networking solutions, recently announced that it had secured the Wave2 Qualification Certification by the WiMAX Forum for its WiMAX 16e System equipment. The company had received the certification from the same forum for its WiMAX 16e Terminal solutions in August, and has now gained the status of becoming the first Chinese company in the networking field to acquire this certification.
 
The WiMAX Forum Certification Organization issues Wave2 Certification only to those products or solutions that succeed in a series of strict testing held under thorough standards. The certification aims at increasing the standardization and competence of WiMAX equipment and terminal product among industry manufacturers.
 
“We are proud to receive the WiMAX Forum’s Wave2 Certification for our WiMAX system and terminal products which only proves that ZTE has the technology and industry capability to offer WiMAX solutions that meet international standards. It also demonstrates our commitment in helping push the adaption of WiMAX technology and playing a key role in driving the development and standardization of WiMAX 16m through close collaboration with various industry organizations and system vendors,” said Zhao Songpu, ZTE’s general manager of WiMAX products.

Also, it is the first company to launch a full set of WiMAX solutions with an indoor coverage capability, resolving indoor substandard coverage issues due to high-bandwidth requirements.
 
With an aim of sharing insights and technical views on WiMAX 16e standards, network planning and construction, the company has partnered with more than 120 operators globally. In addition to regions like Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, ZTE has more than 30 WiMAX 16e networks deployed across the world.
