Alcatel-Lucent's Chinese flagship company Alcatel Shanghai Bell Co. Ltd and China's major TD-SCDMA solution provider Datang Mobile have jointly announced that the two parties will tie up to promote the commercial development of TD-SCDMA in China and the rest of the world.

Pursuant to relevant contract, two sides will work together to set up a joint group, make an overall strategy, create resources and manufacturing infrastructure and cooperate in developing standard manufacturing, quality controls and testing procedures.

Alcatel Shanghai Bell and Datang Mobile will further nail down detailed corporation contracts on production cooperation and marketing activities. Datang Mobile will designate Alcatel Shanghai Bell as its privileged partner for TD-SCDMA market cooperation in the domestic market and the two companies will jointly bid on key projects.

Olivia Qiu, president of Alcatel Shanghai Bell noted the cooperation with Datang Mobile will strengthen Alcatel Shanghai Bell's competitiveness in the 3G sector and further enhance its leadership in China's mobile communication market.

Datang Mobile has committed to the innovations of TD-SCDMA technologies and products in an effort to accelerate the deployment of this technology, said Xie Yongbin, president of Datang Mobile, adding that the company will maintain a strategic partnership with Alcatel Shanghai Bell.
