China Unicom (NYSE: CHU, 762.HK, 600050.SH) subsidiary Zhejiang Unicom began transferring all of its CDMA employees and 20% of other employees to China Telecom (NYSE: CHA, 728.HK) subsidiary Zhejiang Telecom on Monday, reports cctime.com citing inside sources. Unicom contracts expire on September 30, while new Telecom employment contracts should be signed on October 1, said an unnamed insider. Shanghai Unicom intends to send 150 employees to Shanghai Telecom, according to inside sources. A portion of Hainan Unicom marketing department staff joined Hainan Telecom in August, while another group of employees are set to move on October 2, said the report.
