China GrenTech Corporation Ltd.  has been selected by China Telecom to provide CDMA indoor coverage equipment, accessories and repeaters for the telecom operator's CDMA network expansion in the nation, announced the Shenzhen-based telecom equipment provider on September 2.

GrenTech formed partnerships with the 21 provincial branches of China Telecom and has been offering around 20% of the existing CDMA network coverage products for China Unicom, present operator of the CDMA business.

GrenTech is expected to see its revenue from wireless coverage surge in the following quarters after joining hands with China Telecom, the to-be-operator of CDMA network.

China Telecom's parent announced earlier that it would pour CNY 27.9 billion into its Phase I CDMA network expansion so as to improve network capacity and expand coverage in major cities across the country. That was the first time for China Telecom to procure CDMA wireless coverage products via a bidding invitation.
