Industry insiders claim China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) and China Tietong have already selected wireless broadband as the starting point for integration of the two companies’ services, although each region will develop its own models based on its specific circumstances. China Mobile and China Tietong are already strengthening development efforts in wireless broadband technology, with trial work underway in many places.

China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) is in an advantageous position in China’s current wireless broadband market, having built more than 10,000 network access points in Shanghai, Zhejiang, Hubei, Fujian and Sichuan. China Mobile has acquired the rights to build wireless broadband networks in Shanghai and Nanjing.
