China Unicom lately finalized that it would transfer 40% of its employees of the CDMA departments in ten northern provinces and municipalities to China Telecom. And for other provinces, the proportion is 19.76%, according to insiders close to the telecom carrier.

In terms of a previous statement made by China Unicom, the proportion would be 29.3%, but it was just average. And it would carry it out in light of actual circumstances of its provincial branches.

The ten northern provinces and municipalities include Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Shandong, and Henan.

The personnel adjustment will be carried out first from the grassroots then to the top. It will initially come up with final plans on technicians and salespersons in the basic level. And finally it will come to senior executives.
