Unicom Vsens Telecommunications Technology Co., Ltd. (Unicom Vsens), a subsidiary company of China Unicom (0762.HK; CHU.NYSE). specialized in terminal customization business, will assign half of its headquarters' staff to China Telecom (0728.HK; CHA.NYSE) and retain the other half in China Unicom, according to China Business News.
Meanwhile, half of its staffs in the provincial and regional branches will all be allotted to China Telecom. It is a decision made in Monday's Unicom Vsens headquarters meeting.

It means that China Unicom's terminal customization business will be restarted, said a source with China Unicom. Unicom Vsens belongs to neither network assets nor user assets of the listed China Unicom. China Unicom and China Telecom have negotiated for many times on Unicom Vsens issue.

China Telecom has decided to establish its own terminal customization company, but it still expects to acquire experienced staff from Unicom Vsens to drive the development of its customized terminal business.

Since Vsens has played a vital role in China Unicom's CDMA business, China Unicom also hopes to retain part of experienced staffs to further adhere to the terminal customization development mode in the upcoming 3G era.
