China is likely to have over 160 mln users with mobile phones configured for code division multiple access (CDMA) technology by 2012, compared with around 43 mln currently, the South China Morning Post reported.
CDMA users will make up 19.3 pct of all mobile telephone users in China within five years, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said.
Users of the US 3G version of CDMA will account for 40 pct of the market by 2012, with the homegrown TD-SCDMA and European-developed WCDMA standards accounting for 20 pct and 40 pct, respectively.
