China Telecom (00728) announces that Leng Rongquan has given notice to resign as the president and chief operating officer with effect from July 8. With effect from the same day, Shang Bing has been appointed as the president and chief operating officer and Yang Xiaowei has been appointed as an executive vice president.

Shang Bing and Yang Xiaowei are currently vice presidents of China Telecommunications Corporation, the controlling shareholder of China Telecom.
