Telefonica eyes China Unicom stake in 18 mth - Top News\cn-c114 бк C114

Spain's Telefonica wants to take a 10 percent stake in wireless operator China Unicom within the next 18 months, Chief Executive Cesar Alierta told Germany's Boerse Online magazine.

The company was also looking to invest further in Mexico, Brazil and Germany, Boerse Online reported.

Alierta confirmed Telefonica's current full-year forecasts for sales to rise 6-8 percent. He also expected earnings per share of 2.30 euros in 2010, Boerse Online added.
