China Unicom expects to finish valuation of CDMA assets by end-July

Assessment of China Unicom's (0762. HK; CHU.NYSE) CDMA network is expected to finish by the end of July, according to Shanghai Securities News.

China Unicom Corp. has ordered its provincial subsidiaries to assess the assets of CDMA network and required them to finish the work by June 25.

At the same time, the company and China Telecom (0728.HK; CHA.NYSE) plans to affirm the value of the assets at the end of July.

Assets definition, namely whether the pre-stored fees belong to the assets, is a major concern on the assets affirmation, and industrial experts were invited to provide solutions to prevent complaints from subscribers.

China Unicom would assign about 240 staff member from its headquarters to China Telecom, and China Telecom had launched the organizational structure adjustment to prepare for taking over the CDMA
