Japanese electronics maker Sharp Corp. will enter the cellular phone business in China this month, offering a high-end model based on the Aquos handsets it sells in Japan, the Nikkei newspaper reported on Thursday without citing sources.
Sharp mobile phones will be marketed through Dixintong, China's largest wireless phone retailer, the report said.
The company will debut with an upmarket model featuring a high-resolution camera and a high-quality screen.
The phones are expected to cost 4,550 yuan ($636.10).
