China Telecom Americas will interconnect its data network with that of Sprint Nextel Corp.
China Telecom Americas, China Telecom Corp. Ltd.'s (NYSE: CHA) largest international subsidiary, wants the collaboration with Overland Park-based Sprint (NYSE: S) so it can offer customers congestion-free connectivity, according to a Tuesday release.
"This collaboration enables businesses to simplify network operations worldwide by providing data, voice and video service on a single, secure network platform, and experience ubiquitous connectivity across China Telecom America, its parent, China Telecom, and its various partner networks," Donald Tan, president of China Telecom Americas, said in the release.
In March, Sprint announced a network-to-network interfaces relationship with China Telecom Corp. to extend capabilities for Sprint's customers in China.
"We're pleased to deepen that relationship by supporting China Telecom Americas," Dan Dooley, Sprint's president of wireline services, said in the release.
