China Unicom, Netcom, Telecom to announce restructuring plans later today

China Unicom Ltd said it will announce the details of its proposed merger with China Netcom Group Corp at a joint press conference after market close today at 4.30 pm.

It will also reveal details about the proposed disposal of its CDMA business to China Telecom.

China Telecom said it will hold a separate press conference at 6.00 pm to announce its plans to acquire China Unicom's CDMA business.
