China Telecom May Partner With Qualcomm On C Net

China Telecom  has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with two Qualcomm (Nasdaq: QCOM) senior executives for CDMA network cooperation, reports DoNews quoting an unnamed insider. According to the report, Qualcomm COO and Qualcomm CDMA Technologies (QCT) president Dr. Sanjay Jha joined negotiations. The MOU will go into effect this month, said the report. China Telecom is currently in talks with China Unicom (NYSE: CHU, 762.HK, 600050.SH) regarding the purchase of the Unicom CDMA network.

Qualcomm announced the promotion of Qualcomm China president Frank Meng to Qualcomm senior vice president on Tuesday, according to another DoNews report. Meng will maintain his role as China president, said the report. He is the former head of QCT in China.
