National Development and Reform Commission (hereinafter referred to as NDRC) recently decided to reduce part of radio frequency occupation fees, including frequency occupation fees of the 5G public mobile communication system, this will effectively lighten the burden of enterprises and promote the development of domestic ICT industry and aerospace industry.
According to the announcement, frequency occupation fees that are above 3,000 MHz frequency bands were reduced. For frequency bands used nationwide, the frequency occupation fee of 3,000-4,000MHz bands declined from CNY 8 million/MHz/year to CNY 5 million/MHz/year, in addition, the frequency occupation fee of 4,000-6,000MHz and above 6,000 MHz frequency bands was declined from CNY 8 million/MHz/year to CNY 3 million/MHz/year and CNY 500,000/MHz/year, respectively.
In order to encourage the development of new technologies and business, NDRC offers a preferential policy on frequency occupation fees of the 5G public mobile communication system , which are free of charge in the first three years and gradually turn to full charge in the next three years. Taking the frequency bands below 6GHz for example, CNY 5.25 billion will be saved in the first three years and CNY 2.625 billion in the next three years. If the application of millimeter wave is taken into account, more cost will be saved.
