In the afternoon of December 21, China Telecom released the Voluntary Announcement: Change of Company Name and Company Type of Controlling Shareholder on its website, which said that China Telecom has completed registration changing procedure in Beijing Administration for Industry and Commerce on December 15, the company type has changed from an enterprise owned by the whole people to a wholly state-owned company and its name has changed to China Telecom Corporation Limited.

According to the company system reform plan of state-owned enterprises, after approved by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), China Telecommunications Corporation has completed company system reform and completed registration changing procedure in Beijing Administration for Industry and Commerce on December 15.
The main changes are as follows:
First, the company type has changed from an enterprise owned by the whole people to a wholly state-owned company.
Second, the company name has changed from China Telecommunications Corporation to China Telecom Corporation Limited.
Third, the existing business, assets, qualifications, credits and debts are all inherited by China Telecom Corporation Limited.
