China Unicom Drives Full-Range Module Standardization

China Unicom IoT Ecology Conference was held in Guangzhou on August 25, 26.

The telco released the new strategies and initiatives of Internet of Things at the conference and displayed all of its achievements in IoT, aiming to create a new "IoT ecosystem" and promote the integration and development of the IoT industry chain.

China Unicom General Manager Lu Yimin published in strategies about IoT at the conference.

It is worth noting that the company will "firmly" drive NB-IoT network construction and is rapidly accelerating the launch of eMTC.

The telco has by far completely launched pre-commercial NB-IoT in dozens of cities and achieved rapid access to its NB-IoT network in more than 300 cities in China.

Also, the company has opened the eMTC test network in some areas including Beijing and Guangdong.

Terminal is the key to the development of IoT, in which module plays an important role.

Mr. Lu pointed out that China Unicom has been driving the standardization, scale and opening of the dual-frequency module (900 / 1800 MHz) and appealing for reference to the promotion experience of "all mode" mobile phones and a push on the standardization of full-range IoT module.

In addition, China Unicom is a driver of the internationalization of IoT with various capabilities of efficient global IoT connection services with one-point access, unified management and controllable cost.
