China's Shipped Mobile Phones Fall 15.4% in July

CAICT (China Academy of Information and Communications Technology) announced the China's Mobile Phone Domestic Market Operation Analysis Report in July 2017.

The report shows that there were 43.049 million mobile phones shipped in China in July, dropping 15.4 percent, and 45 new models released, a 67.2 percent decline from one year earlier.

Representing 91.3 percent of the total in China during the period, China's domestic-brand handset shipments fell 17.5 percent to 39.287 million with 42 new models, reducing 68.4 percent year over year.

In spite of 33 new models released, 4G cellphone shipments decreased 15.2 percent to 40.831 million, accounting for 94.8 percent. Among them, the shipped all-mode 4G¡¡mobile phones accounted for 88.8 percent.

There were 40.825 million smartphones shipped with 32 new models, decling 15.3 percent, accounting for 94.8 percent of the total.

During the first half of the year, the handset shipments were down 7.5 percent to 282 million in China while the new models dropped 32.2 percent to 610 compared with the same period of last year.

Falling 6.6 percent YoY, China's domestic-brand handset shipments hit 255 million with 575 new models coming out, accounting for 90.6 percent.

The shipments of 4G handset dropped 5.1 percent to 267 million YoY, accounting for 94.8 percent of the total while 495 new models of domestic-brand were released, which decreased 35.7 percent year over year.

There were 226 million smartphones shipped in China with a 5.8 percent YoY decline, representing 94.6 percent of the total.
