China Unicom announced on the night of June 26 that some media had reported that some corporations including Alibaba and Tencent will be involved in buying the stocks issued by China Unicom.
However, the specific plan concerning the private offering of shares has not been determined so far - the object, size and price of the issue and the purpose of raised funds are being planned.
China Unicom implied that it has no idea about the information source of the media report and it hasn't signed any binding legal document such as framework agreement and subscription agreement with any potential investor.
