O2 Germany has announced plans to increase the number of shops medium term across Germany to 1,100 from the current tally of roughly 570 shops. Furthermore the company wants to acquire 350 Premium Partners, indirect sales channels, which primarily market O2 products and services. This year alone, 150 Premium Partners are to be added: the first one will probably be launched in May.
Lutz Sch┨ler, managing director, Marketing & Sales, O2 Germany: "Customers are provided competent consulting services in our shops and can get all products for their communications requirements from one source. The expansion of additional shops is very important for the proximity to our customers."
"Based on the offer of mobile telecommunications, fixed network and
DSL, attractive business models will open up for our partners as well," comments Sch┨ler on the indirect sales activities. With the shop-in-shop concept O2 opens up new sales channels: also the owner of a gas station or the operator of a supermarket can now include O2 products in their offer.
