Broadcast mobile TV is expected to take off in China in 2009. According to market research firm In-Stat, this year is key for broadcasters to deploy and optimize networks and explore effective business models. In 2009, the entire value chain, including equipment and handsets, will be ready for rapid development. China''s broadcast mobile TV subscribers is forecast to grow from 300,000 in 2007 to 36.2 million in 2012 and China''s digital mobile TV chipset revenue will grow from $1.5 million in 2006 to $196.9 million in 2012.
A recent report by the high-tech market research firm found the following:

CMMB and
DMB-T/H are the two most mature mobile TV technologies in China.
- The analog mobile TV market will peak around 2009.
