U.S.-based enterprise telecom giant,
Verizon Business, has secured regulatory licenses to provide long distance and international telecommunications services in India, according to a recent statement by the company¨s Singapore branch.
Verizon Business sees significant potential in India¨s fixed-line communications market, despite a decline in traditional telephone use last year, and believes that business services such as videoconferencing, which is already widely used in Asia Pacific countries, will be major drivers of growth.
^You can sit in a room and have a high-definition meeting and it is like the person (who) is talking to you is in the same room, ̄ commented Verizon¨s regional vice president for Asia-Pacific, Andrew Dobbins.
