Nigeria''s Starcomms Orders Access Radios

Harris Stratex Networks says that it is to will supply Starcomms, the Nigerian CDMA operator, with new Eclipse radios as part of Starcomms'' expanding network operations into new cities throughout Nigeria.
Starcomms will implement the new Eclipse radios in their 3G CDMA network. Under terms of the multi-million dollar deal, Harris Stratex will install, maintain and service the Eclipse radios, which will be used for both backbone and access in new locations being served by Starcomms across Nigeria. "Harris Stratex Networks'' versatile transport systems will be a key part of our 3G infrastructure," said Starcomms CEO, Maher Qubain. "Just as importantly, their comprehensive technical support will be vital to us as we expand our 3G network in Nigeria. We anticipate that this will be the beginning of a successful long-term relationship between Starcomms and Harris Stratex Networks." "Our Eclipse systems provide the high level of reliability and flexibility required in a state-of-the-art network that relies on both CDMA and IP-based services," said Paul Kennard, vice president, International Sales at Harris Stratex Networks. "Eclipse is an ideal choice for Starcomms'' needs today and for future expansion.
