TeliaSonera infrastructure company to launch on 1 Jan
Updated:2007/12/28 11:05
TeliaSonera''s new telecom infrastructure company will launch operations in Sweden on 1 January 2008. The company will be known as TeliaSonera Skanova Access and will be TeliaSonera''s wholly-owned subsidiary. Skanova Access will sell copper and copper-related infrastructure on the same commercial terms to all operators on the Swedish market, including TeliaSonera''s own end-customer operations. The company will employ 700 people. Net sales generated by the corresponding operations in 2007 are estimated to amount to SEK 7 billion. The chairman of the board of directors of Skanova Access will be Anders Bruse, who also serves as the head of TeliaSonera Broadband Services. Anders Gylder, currently senior vice president of Broadband Services, will assume responsibility as the CEO of Skanova Access.
Gylder, who has been responsible for the establishment of Skanova Access, will head the company during its first operating period, ensuring that the new work flows and processes between the company and its customers and vendors are in place. The recruitment of a new CEO, who is to further develop the company after the first operating period, will begin during the spring of 2008. The aim is to have the new CEO in place in the third quarter of 2008. In connection with the founding of Skanova Access, a body called Equality Access Board will also be set up. The aim of EAB is to supervise equal treatment independently of TeliaSonera and to monitor the market''s confidence in Skanova Access and the company''s ability to live up to its commitments. EAB will be composed of chairman Mikael Svensson, head of TeliaSonera''s Internal Audit, and two members independent of TeliaSonera. The supervision will be based on the reporting of certain key figures audited by external auditors Source:Telecompaper |
