Mexican Telecoms spending to total US$38.2bn in 2007

Mexican companies and the general public will spend some US$38.2bn on telecommunications equipment, services and accessories in 2007, a 9.7% increase over 2006, local daily La Jornada reported, citing a study by consultancy Select.
According to the study, 67.5% of spending will go into fixed and mobile telecommunications and internet services, accounting for US$25.8bn.
Equipment is expected to result in spending of US$7bn followed by IT services with US$3bn.
