The total procurement value of TD-SCDMA infrastructure equipment in China during the second quarter of 2007 is estimated at 7.2 billion yuan (US$938 million), according to China-based consulting company Analysys International. TD-SCDMA is a China-developed
3G mobile communications standard.
The procurement was made by
China Mobile Communications, China Network Communications and China Telecom, which stepped up establishment of their TD-SCDMA networks in major cities in China during the second quarter, Analysys indicated. The procurement value for the first half of 2007 stood at 14.2 billion yuan.
China-based ZTE and Datang Telecom as well as TD-Tech, a joint venture of Germany-based Siemens and China-based Huawei Technologies, were the top three suppliers, Analysys noted.
