The aggressive Chinese handset-and-network vendor, Huawei Technologies, is step-by-step making its way in the United States. Its latest win is a
broadband PC card at
Alltel Corp.
Alltel will give the card away to subscribers with a qualifying data plan of $60 per month on a two-year contract. The card¨s MSRP is $190.
Huawei¨s EC360 card supports Alltel¨s
CDMA2000 1x EV-DO network and provides download speeds up to 2.4 megabits per second, according to Alltel, and supports Microsoft Corp. Windows 2000, Windows XP and
Vista operating systems.
According to Huawei, the Chinese vendor serves 31 of the world¨s top 50 network operators.
