Accelink, Xtera and Corning Will Report on Ultra-Long Unrepeatered 100G Transmission Over 627 km

Updated:2015/11/23 12:39

Accelink, along with Xtera and Corning, will report on the industry's leading unrepeatered 100G transmission performance over 627 km at the 2015 edition of Asia Communications and Photonics Conference (ACP), the largest conference in the Asia-Pacific region on optical communication, photonics and relevant technologies, held in Hong Kong (19-23 November 2015).

This industry's leading demonstration, conducted in the facilities of State Grid Information & Telecommunication (SGIT) of China, the telecommunication arm of the world's largest power grid builder and operator, outlines Accelink, Xtera and Corning's comprehensive capacity in the realm of ultra-long unrepeatered transmission in optical communication system. Two-month error-free stability test demonstrate the maturity of the technologies used in this 100G unrepeatered trial.  Both active equipment and fiber products are commercially available today and already deployed in the field.

The technology and equipment used in this 627 km demonstration have already been deployed in challenging optical networks combining several very long spans and long end-to-end reach in a multi-span configuration patented by Accelink£¬Xtera and Corning, offering a field-proven solution for optical networks over OPGW cables on power grids.
