Taiwan-based EMS provider Foxconn (Hon Hai Precision Industry) will exclusively assemble Wii 2, a next-generation games console featuring body-sensing control like Kinect, for Nintendo, with shipments to begin in October 2011, according to Chinese-language newspaper Economic Daily News (EDN). In response, Foxconn declined to comment.
Nintendo is likely to debut Wii 2 at the 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) to take place in Los Angeles during June 7-9, and will launch the console at a retail price of US$350-400 in mid-October or early November 2011, EDN pointed out.
