TCL Corporation suffered from a sales plunge in November 2008, except for LCD TVs, the Chinese consumer electronics maker today in a sales data report for the month on December 10.

During the month, the company experienced a CRT TV sales volume of 443,000, plummeting 62.4% year on year; an AV product sales volume of 779,000, slipping close to 50% year on year; an air conditioner sales volume of 33,000, sliding 18.13% year on year; an icebox sales volume of approximately 17,000, falling nearly 25% year on year; and a washing machine sales volume of 42,000, dropping nearly 29% year on year.

By contrast, it took a LCD TV sales volume of 470,000, rocketing 269.2% year on year.

The global financial crisis led to the sales plunge, Wang Hongbo, secretary for the board of directors, acknowledged in an interview yesterday. The sales slowdown in CRT TV was faster than expectations.
