Comba Telecom Systems Holdings Limited, a provider of wireless enhancement solutions has launched a new WiMAX -compatible remote radio unit (RRU) to the global market.

New compact, IP65 weatherproof RRU can be detached from the BBU (Base Band Unit) and used with base band signals through optical fiber. Its high power efficiency design and flexible configuration helps in reducing capital expenditure and improves deployment time for the WiMAX network rollout.
 
The company assures that the new unit supports point-to-point, star and daisy-chained connection with the BBU to provide a flexible system topology and its convection cooling design allows it to operate in various environments. RRU helps minimize the feeder cable requirements for base station systems and mitigates the challenges network operators face in site acquisition and power supply issues.
 
RRU can be customized with third party BBUs and operates in 2.3-2.7GHz supporting variable channel bandwidths and multi-antenna architecture such as 2x2 MIMO, 4x4 MIMO, 4x4 AAS.
 
In addition, it sports a built-in self-diagnostic, protection, alarm & error report functions and its software defined radio enables key parameters to be software configurable with central frequency, channel bandwidth, output power and TDD ratio.

Comba product line includes, microwave IP solution for wireless ISP and mobile operators comprising of antenna, network management systems (NMS), indoor and outdoor units (IDU and ODU), Comba’s microwave IP solution allows for packet, hybrid and classic data transport.
 
Combo recently announced its successful delivery and installation of wireless enhancement solution for China’s Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Rail. This solution is the only platform in China that serves all on-train wireless voice and data services for the passengers.
