From January to July 2008, China reported a total of 11.4 million new broadband Internet access subscribers, and the total number of broadband users reached 77.8 million. At the same time, China's telecommunications industry revenue continued to grow and achieved revenue of 467.8 billion yuan, up 9.1 percent year-on-year, according to the latest figures released by National Development and Reform Commission.
From January to July 2008, China reported a total of 50.49 million new telephone subscribers; the total number of phone users reached 963 million. There are approx 355 million fixed telephone users and 608 million mobile phone users in China.
