LG Electronics Inc. (LGE) (KSE: 066570) opened a design center in London on Tuesday to broaden the appeal of its products in Europe, an LGE official here said.
The Europe Design Center, with designers from European countries including Britain, Italy, France and Germany, will develop new designs for the electronics giant's products to suit European tastes, the official said.
The center's first design, expected to be finished in August, is likely to be of mobile phones, he said. The company plans to invest US$5 million in the center this year alone, he added.
LGE currently operates five other design centers, located in Korea, the United States, Japan, China and India.
