CATR: China's Mobile Phone Shipments Hit 46.864 Million in January

On February 10, CATR released the Mobile Phone Market Operation Report in China in January.

In January, the mobile phone shipments in China declined 5.1 percent to 46.864 million from a year earlier with 63 new models, a 22.2 percent decrease. Accounting for 96.3 percent, shipped 4G cellphones increased 45.126 million including 50 new models and 80.6 percent were all-network.

Smartphone Shipments hit 45.031 million, increasing 1 percent over one year before and accounting for 96.1 percent of the total domestic shipments, among which 35.561 million were Android phone. There are 51 new models of smartphones, declining 12.1% and including 35 models supporting Android operating system.

FDD, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA and CDMA2000 accounted for 86.1 percent, 98.6 percent, 86 percent and 81 percent respectively.

Still occupying the mobile phone market, domestic brands shipped 40.836 million cellphones with a 4.4 percent year-on-year decrease, accounting for 87.1%; among them 58 new models went on sale, dropping 19.4% compared with the same period of last year.
