CATR (China Academy of Telecommunication Research) released operating report of China's handset market for May on June 12.
The report shows that handset shipment in China rose 13.2% to 50.17 million in May, including 117 newer models with a drop of 25.5%. A 20.6% YoY growth happened to shipment of domestic-brand handsets which is 45.474 million, accounting for 90.6% of handset shipment in China year-over-year.
With 38.126 million Android mobile phones included, the smartphone shipment reaches 47.372 million in May with a YoY increase of 19.8%, occupying 94.4% of the smartphone shipment in China.
