Recently, Huawei held an off-line experience activity in Shanghai, which cooperated with VOGUE China and brought in marketing activities combining technology and fashion. The Huawei Watch that hasn’t been released in domestic market was also officially unveiled, in the interview with media, CEO of Huawei Consumer BG Richard Yu said that this smart watch and Huawei Mate 8 will appear in domestic market within this year.
Richard Yu said, due to the unavailability of Google services in China, Huawei Watch need other substitutive services, so the time to market is postponed. He also revealed that the licensed version of Huawei Watch will also be equipped with Android Wear OS, while the Nexus 6P will not appear in domestic market, which is cooperated with Google.
For the more concerned Huawei Mate 8, Richard Yu has full confidence with it, he said that he has been using this smartphone and the screen and camera are very good. When talking about the releasing date of Mate 8, he said it would be within the year, but he did not disclose the specific date. He also explained that the Mate 8 would be use the Kirin 950 processor, so the releasing date is a little late.
In last September, Huawei’s Mate 7 successfully made it entering into the above 3000 yuan high-end smartphone market. However, in this September, Mate 8 was not released, while Mate S appeared in the market with a higher price, but reports said it didn’t gain good sales performances. Richard Yu denied this, he revealed that the current sales of Mate S have reached hundreds of thousands and he was satisfied with this result, in addition, the Mate S will form combined product lines with Mate 8 with relatively large/small screens.
Many domestic mobile phone vendors have set their annual shipment goals as 100 million, so did Huawei. In the just past Q3, Huawei’s smart phone shipments reached 27.4 million, Richard Yu said, Huawei’s 100 million annual goal will definitely be achieved and will be exceeded as well.
