Recently, ZTE’s largest device production base in the Western China was officially put into operation, the executive vice president of ZTE and CEO of ZTE Device business Zeng Xuezhong told C114 before the start of commissioning ceremony, shipments of ZTE smartphone reached 48 million in 2014 and overall mobile phone shipments exceeded 100 million, both the mobile phone sales scale and gross profit rate achieved growth. The shipment goal of ZTE smartphone is set as 60 million in 2015.
At current situation, the devices of ZTE are mainly the GRAND S family featured by safety, the Stars series featured by intelligent voice, smartphones of 1000-yuan level and the independent brand Nubia.
Zeng Xuezhong said, the next generation of ZTE device will be launched in the first half of this year and will be greatly strengthened in design, hardware and software.
Based on the difference of frameworks, China and USA are the two key markets of ZTE, Zeng Xuezhong said, ZTE’s device business will still focused on China and USA in the future, and radiates global markets at the same time. Judging from the performance of all the regional markets, growth in the oversea markets is more prominent: shipment growth in the Asia Pacific market reached 100%; while growth rate was as high as 580% in Latin American market and over 400% growth rate was made in the European market.
