Shipment of ZTE mobile phones reached 28 million in 1H2014 with 40% were 4G models

Recently, ZTE held the new product release conference of 4G version Blade Vec and Grand SII LTE in Hongkong. On the meeting, the head of ZTE mobile phone business Zeng Xuezhong revealed, the shipment of ZTE mobile phones reached 28 million in 1H2014, of which the 4G ones amounted to 15 million, about 40% of the total shipments.

In January of this year, Zeng Xuezhong said in an interview, he hoped that the shipment of ZTE smartphones would reach 60 million in 2014. With the availability of 4G services of the three major operators, ZTE accelerate the implementation of its 4G strategies, and launched several cost effective 4G smartphones: the Grand SII, Red Bull V5, Stars 1, Qing Yang 2. And the sub-brand Nubia of ZTE also launched three new devices recently-- Nubia Z7, Z7 mini and Z7 Max.
 
Zeng Xuezhong said, ZTE hopes to make a greater breakthrough in Hongkong and other Asia Pacific markets (China mainland not included) in the future, and achieve the goal of a CAGR of 35% in the Hongkong market in the next three years. In the planning of 4G devices, he said, ZTE launched about 20 devices last year, and the number would be 30 in this year. In the future, ZTE will take different measures based on different regional markets, and make rapid breakthroughs in the global markets.

According to C114, Chinese Mainland and American is the two big markets of ZTE, in the first half of year, the performance of ZTE smartphones exceeded expectations in the North America and the Asia Pacific markets. Up to now, ZTE has been one of the top four mobile phone vendors in America market, and ranked in the second place in the prepaid market, in Canada, ZTE is in the top three mobile phone vendors in the local market share.

The sale scale in the Asia Pacific region is equivalent to about 60% of that in the America market. The performance also exceeded expectations in the Taiwan, Indonesia market in the first half of year. Zhang Shumin, the CEO of ZTE devices in Asia and CIS regions said: "we hope that in the next five or six years, the sales in Asia Pacific would be equal with that in the America market, after all, there is a large growth space in the Asia Pacific region market."
